The Five Families are the five original Italian American Mafia crime families of New York City which have dominated organized crime in the United States since 1931. These families include Lucchese, Bonanno, Gambino, Genovese, and Colombo.

After the death of John Genovese, his brother Ralphie Genovese was appointed head of the Five Families.
